Some Daytrips To The Reef
One activity that you cannot miss out on doing while you are in Cairns is visiting the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Okay, There are billions of incredibly colored fish and corals that will astound you and your finger will get sore from taking so many pictures.
There are a great number of different types of reef tours that you can do, and it all depends on you as to which kind is going to fit you. You should know, As I have done most of the reef cruises from Cairns , I have highlighted the reef cruises that I considered were among the best and then sorted them in to two alternative sections.
These day cruises are wonderful value for money and are in the main for the youthful. However, if you are young in nature, you’ll completely like such daytrips.
If you’re wanting a boat trip that’s tons of fun, in addition to great snorkelling and diving, then you’re sorted!
‘Passions’ has their unique scuba diving site on the Outer Barrier Reef out of Cairns, which means no one else competing for the same bit of beach (no overcrowding)! The crew are incredibly inter-active with all of the passengers, getting you involved in all of the days activities. You have to understand, You will not be able to escape them when they come around to paint your face with zinc cream (the whole lot in the name of skin cancer awareness!), or once they try to get you dance the moonwalk around the middle deck of the boat on the way home.
Scuba diving is available, and ‘Passions’ is in reality the 1st boat I ever did a scuba dive on. If you’re as worried as I was, the very well qualified dive instructors will take you’re concerns away.
Stopping at Michaelmas Cay on the way back to Cairns and being served a complimentary glass of wine whilst experiencing the spectacular views, is a great end to a excellent day.
